My name is Edmund Loh. Most people know me as an Internet Marketer. I like traveling. In constant pursuit of my dreams and I’m always a kid a heart. I am also a full-time turtle farmer.
The decision to start this blog didn’t happen overnight and even more so on my commitment to the bigger goal. In fact, it was weeks before I totally made up my mind and told myself, “I’m up for the challenge!”
And what challenge is that, you ask? Here’s how the whole thing began…
PHASE I: THE BACK STORY
2004: Right after high school, I secured a full-time job as an office boy in a chemical manufacturing company. While the hourly wage was meagre, I didn’t have much of a choice and I needed the money real bad.
So I was in the rat race like almost everyone else. I would take 2 ‘sardine’ trains to my work place and back, spending 3 hours a day just commuting and walking.
My employer was an angry man all the time, that the staff turnover rate was ridiculously high for a small company. The average employee stays for 2 weeks! But like I said, I needed the money and I couldn’t risk leaving to find another job.
So I stayed for a year, saved as much money as I could to start an Internet based business as a digital product reseller.
PHASE II: ZERO TO HERO
2005: things didn’t start out as rosey as I would have thought. As a matter of fact, I was in deep sh*t (like REAAALLY DEEP SH*T) the first few months I tried to make a dime online. At last after figuring out how the marketing game works, I was able to make at least some money online.
2006 – 2009: these were the years I pumped in the most of my efforts into growing my Internet Business. I went from becoming a reseller and affiliate to selling my own products and licensing Private Label Rights to other marketers.
2010: this marked the 5th year I was marketing online, and yes I congratulated myself for being among the 10% that survived and thrived the first 5 years in business! At this point, my family and I had bought back everything we had lost many years before – two cars and a beautiful Lakeview house. And then some.
Along the way, I had enjoyed the perks of building this business. I had been invited to speak for marketing events, was interviewed by the local papers (The Star), and even co-authored Secret of Millionaire Students which is currently a national bestseller in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia!
Needless to say, I’ve got more time freedom now than just some short years ago. Life’s been good – but could it be GREATER? Hmmm…
PHASE III: HERO TO SUPERHERO?
2011 – Present Day: while I am proud of my achievements thus far, I know that I can do BETTER and be GREATER. Many successful people that I have studied or followed are evidence that even I have yet to unlock my fullest potential.
Thus I started this blog as a documented journey to a more definite, more daring financial goal:
Now I’ve done six figure months before, albeit it happened only a few times I could count with my fingers on one hand. This time, I am obsessed about passive income.
In the wealth creation industry, these 2 words have been thrown around loosely, that people kind of take it for granted. That said, I am specific that I want to attain this goal of passive income, and at this magnitude.
By passive income, I define as:
That said, profits derived as a result of:
Mail blasting,
One-time only sales (that do not fit above mention criteria),
Consulting,
Product launches,
And anything else that falls under earned income or capital gains income do NOT count towards this goal.
WHY $100,000 OR 300,000 MYR A MONTH?
For One – the very thought of this goal is intimidating. It’s already forcing me to be out of my comfort zone so that’s a sign that this goal is worthwhile.
Two – since I reside in Malaysia it’s relevant that the goal is quantified in Malaysian Ringgits. As of this time of writing, 1 US Dollar is equivalent to 3.00 MYR. I have reason to believe the US Dollar will fall further (if you follow the currency exchange market) so even when such a thing happens, I shall stick to the higher goal.
Three – passive income is NOT easy. In the last 5 years, I learned that it is easier to launch products that generate one-time only sales. If you have played Cash Flow 101 before and at least a few times, you will notice that it’s easy to get a lot of earned income but not really easy to beef up the passive income section of your financial statement. The same is true in real life, only magnified.
Four – I can think of a lot of things to buy with that kind of money coming in every start of the month.
The greatest blessing is that I’m still young, healthy and full of energy. I’m not married (yet) and I can take care of my mother and sister without breaking a sweat. Which leaves me with plenty of time to pursue the next level.
I will be updating this blog on a regular basis about my journey, progress, strategies, ideas, and be as transparent as possible on the results.
If you share the same passion and goals in creating passive income, and you think my ideas and strategies will be of help to you, please subscribe and I’ll keep you posted!
All the best to you too,
Edmund Loh
P.S. I also have a personal blog where I write on happenings in my life when I’m away from the keyboard.
